Hotel Information: This family-friendly resort, completely renovated in June 2007, attracts guests seeking walking-distance access to Cancún's principal shopping, dining, and entertainment center, which is about a block away.

Amenity highlights: The resort offers a freeform pool with a waterfall and swim-up bar and an adjacent spa tub and children’s pool. A sand terrace is furnished with lounge chairs for sunbathing. Thatched-roof palapas offer shade, and Bali-style daybeds and hammocks are aligned to maximize sublime views.

Insider tip: When winds create waves on the resort's side of Punta Cancún, guests can walk over to the bay side of the point, where they will usually find calm water along a public beach.

NH Krystal Cancun Hotel offers 325 spacious guestrooms in an eight-story tower. Rooms, renovated in June 2007, include trendy furnishings, spring-box mattresses, and two-chair dining sets. Rooms do not include balconies, but windows provide views of the Caribbean Sea or over Punta Cancun. The barefoot-friendly guestrooms include marble floors and marble bathrooms with shower/tub combinations.

All rooms provide 27-inch TVs with cable and complimentary wireless Internet access.
